Veteran-Owned. Virginia-Built.

Rogue Solar brings a submarine electrician’s standards to every home we work on. From our offices in Virginia Beach and Richmond, we help homeowners across Hampton Roads and Central Virginia switch to clean, reliable solar power.

Why We Started Rogue Solar

I spent fourteen years in the Navy as a submarine nuclear electrician. When I got out, solar was the obvious next step: same physics, same wiring, no reactor. I started in sales at a very large solar company and worked my way up. I built the systems they ran on. They kept the systems and let me go.

After fourteen years of knowing exactly where I stood, that one hit hard. It also showed me the company from the inside. Sales were built around the sale, not the home. Employees mattered while they were producing. That company no longer exists, and I understand why.

Zach and Charlie ran offices there. We compared notes, agreed on what was wrong, and left to build the opposite. The name is the plan: go rogue from the industry standard. Price the system to the home. Give the real timeline. Put people first, second, and third.

Rogue Solar designs and installs complete home solar systems using panels, inverters and batteries from the manufacturers on our Providers list, and through our partners we handle the roofing and tree work that gets a home ready. One team is accountable from your first quote to power-on, and I still hold the work to the standard I held myself to underway.
